Made in Uganda, designed for living

Our story

A studio built on craft and conversation

Jomera began in a small Kampala workshop with a simple idea: Ugandan homes deserve interiors that are as beautiful as anything in Milan or Cape Town, and that feel unmistakably of this place.

Today we're a team of designers, architects and project managers who still sketch by hand, still visit every workshop, and still believe the best rooms come from listening carefully. We pair contemporary design with materials and makers from across Uganda, from Masaka basket weavers to Ndeeba joiners.

How we work

What guides us

Four promises in every project

Designed around you

We design for how you really live: the morning routine, the Sunday gathering, the quiet corner.

Made by local hands

Most of what we make is crafted in Uganda, supporting artisans and keeping lead times short.

Built to last

Natural materials, honest construction and timeless design mean less waste and fewer replacements.

Clear from day one

Fixed design fees, open quotes and one point of contact who knows your project inside out.

Our material library

Rooted in Ugandan earth

The textures we return to again and again, each one with a story and a maker behind it.

Mvule timber

Dense, golden hardwood that deepens with age. Our go-to for tables and joinery.

Lubugo bark cloth

UNESCO-recognised Buganda craft, used for wall panels, lampshades and headboards.

Papyrus & raffia

Woven by cooperatives in Masaka and Mbarara into baskets, screens and pendants.

Hand-thrown clay

Vessels, tiles and lamp bases shaped by potters, finished in earthy glazes.

The people

Meet the studio

A small, senior team, so the people you meet at the start are the people who see your project through.
